Red Bank took Ocean to the wire, but the Spartans won in the 93rd minute,4-3. I’ll have a story and some audio after I get back from TR North. Video and photos might have to wait until tomorrow.

Doug Dombowiecki scored two goals from the outside midfield position, including the game-winner in the second overtime period. Ocean wiped out a 1-0 halftime deficit with three unanswered goals, but blew a two goal lead in the last 16 minutes to a fiesty Bucs team. More on that in the story to come shortly. Unfortunately, I don’t currently have the software to upload audio, so no audible quotes from the game. It’s common that a lot of things don’t work when you first start something. At least that’s what I’m telling myself.

Freehold Twp-Marlboro, SJV-RBC and TR North-Brick were all postponed, in case anyone didn’t notice.

Matt: Look forward to your blog. Ocean/RB game was fun to watch. RB was real scrappy and Ocean couldn’t seem to put them away. Rubenstein makes things happen but may be trying to do too much. Doug D had a nice game for Ocean. Ocean lost a lot of palyers to graduation and it is difficult to tell if they will be a real contender. It seems that if defenders Gilmore and McBride can join in the attack, and take some of the pressure off Rubenstein , Howlett and Bazan, it may make a big differnce.
