Toms River South 2, Toms River East 0

Jordan Urbaczek and John Timmes scored goals and the Indians beat the Raiders for their first win of the season. Prior to Saturday, Toms River South had not scored, dropping 1-0 decisions to both Toms River North and Lacey and tying Monsignor Donovan 0-0.


Raritan 1, Mater Dei Prep 0

Casey Tripolitis scored the game’s lone goal and the Rockets beat the Seraphs in a non-divisional match.

St. John Vianney 6, St. Rose 1

No. 1 Ocean 3, Brick 1

Justin Silverberg, Wadneson Alexis and Neil Martin all scored goals and the Spartans remained unbeaten by beating the Green Dragons.

No. 8 Long Branch at No. 9 Jackson Memorial 5, No. 8 Long Branch 2

Garrett Muzikowski scored just before the halftime horn and three more times in the second half as the Jaguars overcame a 2-0 first-half deficit to beat the Green Wave. Fabio DeSousa scored his fourth goal of the year for Long Branch.

Shore 3, Point Boro 0

J.T. Kessler scored two goals and assisted Tyler Karpe’s goal in the 73rd minute as the Blue Devils shut out the Panthers.

Class A North

Howell 3, Middletown North 2 (OT)

Matt Szyarto scored with 10 seconds left in the second overtime and the Rebels (1-1-1, 1-1-1) beat the Lions (1-2, 1-2) for their first win of the season. Middletown North senior Georges Fiori sent the game into overtime by converting a penalty kick in the final minute of regulation.

CBA 2, Middletown South 0

Sophomore Thanasi Scheidt and junior Kevin Romano scored second-half goals and the Colts (2-1, 2-1) beat the Eagles (0-4, 0-4) to win their second straight game.

No. 4 Colts Neck 2, Marlboro 1

Jason Tonelli scored from 10 yards out with 1:15 left in the game and the Cougars (2-0-1) rallied from a 1-0 second-half deficit to beat the Mustangs. Ben Metzger opened the scoring with a goal in the 52nd minute to put Marlboro (0-4, 0-3) ahead 1-0 and Brian Winderman answered less than two minutes later by drilling a 35-yard free kick to pull Colts Neck even.

No. 10 Manalapan 2, No. 6 Freehold Twp. 0

Ryan Hammer and Mitchell Volis each scored second-half goals and the Braves (4-0, 4-0) shutout the Patriots (3-1, 2-1) to remain unbeaten and unscored-upon this season.


Class A Central

Manasquan 1, Monmouth 0


Class B North

Freehold 1, No. 8 Long Branch 1

Junior Manny Camacho scored the equalizer in the 60th minute and the Green Wave (2-0-2, 1-0-2) salvaged a draw with the Colonials (1-3-1, 1-1-1). Julio Cauatle opened the scoring with a goal in the 10th minute for Freehold.

Matawan 2, No. 5 Wall 1

Sam Labinger and Alex Cella each scored a goal and the Huskies (3-1-0, 3-1-0) upset the Crimson Knights (3-1-2, 1-1-2) for their third win in four games to open the season.


Class B Central

Henry Hudson at Ranney, 4 p.m.



Lacey 1, Manchester 0 (OT)

Robert Biele scored in the first minute of overtime and the Lions (3-1) dropped the Hawks (1-3) for there second 1-0 win in as many nights after beating Toms River South on Thursday.

Brick Memorial 4, Toms River East 1

Dan Sprouls and Garrett Garcia score first-half goals and Kevin Duffy scored the first of his two second-half goals 56 seconds after the opening whistle to help the Mustangs (3-2, 2-1) roll to an impressive win over the Raiders (2-1, 2-1) on the road.  Bryan Malerba assisted each of Duffy’s second-half tallies, while Matt Clayton and Kevin Simek also picked up assists. Toms River East cut its deficit to 3-1 on a goal by Anthony Batelli in the 42nd minute before Dufy struck for his second goal in the 56th to cap the scoring.

Toms River North 0, Jackson Memorial 0

In a game that featured few dangerous chances for either side, the Jaguars outshot the Mariners 9-5 over 100 scoreless minutes as the A South rivals settled for a draw.

Southern 1, Brick 1

Lacey 1, Toms River South 0

Nick Iapicco scored the game’s long goal on a penalty kick in the 66th minute and the Lions held on to beat the Indians under the lights in Toms River.

Class B Central

Point Beach 3, Mater Dei Prep 0

Alex Ciorlione scored two goals, Charlie Turro had a goal and an assist and Cody Gross added two assists as the Garnet Gulls (2-1, 2-1) topped the Seraphs (0-4, 0-3).

St. Rose 6, Ranney 0

Asbury Park 6, Henry Hudson 2

Priory Salomon scored three goals and Jose Cesaire added two of his own for the second time in two games so far this year to lead the Blue Bishops (1-1, 1-1) past the Admirals (0-2, 0-2). Gamal Ganthier also added a score for Asbury Park.

Class B South

Central 5, Pinelands 1

Manchester 2, Lakewood 0

Domanick Gregg scored off a feed from Blake Borsetti in the 52nd inning and later set Borsetti up for a score in the 78th minute as the Hawks (1-3, 1-2) topped the Piners (1-3, 1-2) for their first win of the season.

Point Boro 1, Monsignor Donovan 0

Jake Woodring scored off a pass from Gunnar Schnappauf five minutes into the second half and the Panthers (3-1, 3-0) edged the Griffins (2-1-2, 2-1-0) in a pivotal early-season match in Class B South.

Jackson Liberty 3, Barnegat 2

Bryan Garry, Jeremy DeBoer and Adam Haidi all scored first-half goals to help the Lions (2-1, 2-1) jump out to a 3-0 halftime lead and Jackson Liberty held on to beat the Bengals (2-3, 1-2) for its second straight win. Frank Buckley and Kyle Heidel each scored in the final six minutes to pull Barnegat within a goal.
