TR North clinches A South tie

Posted in Uncategorized by mattmanley on October 10, 2009

I wrote a story on TRN’s 2-1 win over Lacey, but I had an internet error and now I can’t find it. It’s a little late, so to sum up:

Jeff Scheck score five minutes in, Matt Hertgen added one in the 47th and TR North beat Lacey 2-1, clinching at least a share of A South. Kevin Meinert made two acrobatic saves, including one on a breakaway in the first half. Dan Ratyniak beta his man and went in uncontested, but Meinert cut off the angle and stuffed the shot.

Hertgen was ejected for excessive celebration after his goal, when he ran over the the Lacey bench and ripped down a sign hanging off the Gatorade cooler. Apparently, it had some quotes from Lacey goalie Brian Rusak that were meant to be inspirational to the Lions. It was a yellow-red, so no man down, no suspension.

Craig Rutter scored for Lacey on a pk in the 70th and played another great game going head to head with Todd Webb.

The video is up and isn’t that what we’re all here for anyway?
